The county’s updated directive calls for a quarantine of 10 days, rather than the original 14 days, for anyone arriving from travel of more than 150 miles away from Santa Clara County’s borders.

Given the ongoing uncertainty of the pandemic’s impact on international travel and our pressing concerns about Stanford University undergraduate students’ safety and health, all BOSP spring quarter programs have been suspended. This impacts study away programs in Berlin, Cape Town, Florence, Kyoto, Madrid, New York, Oxford, Paris, and Santiago.

Russell Furr, associate vice provost for Environment Health & Safety, details a change for those returning to Santa Clara County from travel outside the area. Beginning Monday, Nov. 30, anyone who returns to Santa Clara County after traveling more than 150 miles away must quarantine for 14 days.

The State of California has issued an overnight stay-at-home order that takes effect this Saturday, Nov. 21, for California counties, including Santa Clara County, that are in the purple “widespread risk” tier for COVID-19.
