Following new guidance from Santa Clara County Public Health Department and the California Department of Public Health, Stanford is making adjustments to its masking guidelines, effective March 2.

Following an announcement that the Santa Clara County Department of Public Health anticipates lifting the county’s indoor masking mandate on March 2, Stanford is working to revise campus protocols. Updates will be provided early next week.

Provost Persis Drell and Russell Furr, associate vice provost, environmental health & safety, update the Stanford community on protocols for returning to campus following winter break. The university’s approach to supporting a healthy return to campus includes continued masking, enhanced COVID-19 testing, including an additional rapid test upon arrival for some students and limitations on student parties and some other gatherings for the start of the quarter.
