What should I do if I get something on my face covering?

Like other personal clothing items, face coverings should be laundered regularly. If a face covering is soiled with hazardous chemicals, biological materials, or radioactive isotopes, immediately:

  1. Remove the face covering;
  2. Rinse face and other possibly contaminated body parts in the safety shower and/ or eyewash; and
  3. Dispose of the face covering appropriately based on contaminant and replace it.
  4. As for all incidents, injuries, or near-misses, report within 24 hours at incidentreport.stanford.edu.
