The County of Santa Clara recommends that positive individuals should remain in isolation in accordance with the 10/1 paradigm, or until 10 days after symptom onset, fever has resolved for more than 24 hours (without fever-reducing medication), and other symptoms have improved.

That noted, the SU Medical Support Team determines when a positive case is able to return to campus. It is important to note that the timing for return of a COVID-positive individual is case-by-case and depends on a number of factors, including their personal circumstances, which may result in time off from work extending for up to 14 days after symptom onset.

Asymptomatic positives (those who never had symptoms) may return on-site 10 days after their first positive test date, after clearance by the Medical Support Team.
