Stanford social distancing protocol

Categories: Health & safety, Leadership communications

Dear Stanford community members,

Under the newest Santa Clara County public health order, Stanford has developed an updated social distancing protocol for our facilities in Santa Clara County. The county order requires that we share the protocol directly with you, and you can find it here on our Health Alerts website.

We encourage you to review the protocol for reminders of the safeguards that are important to take as we continue working to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Some highlights of the protocol:

  • Our online COVID-19 Hygiene Best Practices training is required for faculty, staff, postdocs and students who are employed by the university before returning to work on-site, and it is available now in the STARS system.
  • Those who are working on-site at a Stanford facility must complete a daily symptom check before coming to work using the Health Check online tool.
  • The protocol includes use of face coverings, frequent handwashing and use of hand sanitizer, social distancing at a minimum of 6 feet, regular cleaning of high-contact areas, and other measures to support our community’s health and safety during the coronavirus pandemic.
  • Signage will be posted on the main entrances to buildings providing information to those entering regarding Stanford’s requirements under the protocol.

Thank you for your continued efforts to keep our community safe and to prevent the further spread of the virus. Your support and participation make an important difference.

Sincerely,

Russell Furr
Associate Vice Provost
