Winter quarter final exams
Category: Academics
Dear Winter Quarter Instructors,
As you may have seen, six Bay Area counties have just announced a shelter-in-place order for all residents beginning at 12:01 a.m., March 17, and lasting until at least April 7. The counties affected are Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara.
While we continue to work through the implications of this order for Stanford, it is clear that it is immediately and profoundly disruptive to students and instructors alike, and that we must take prompt steps to alleviate some of their burdens where possible. For that reason, we are writing to tell you that, effective immediately, we are requiring that remaining winter quarter final exams, as well as deadlines for all remaining final papers and projects, be delayed until further notice for all students, both graduate and undergraduate. Some self-initiated exams in the Law school are exempt from this requirement and your school will follow up with you and your students.
Thank you again for your patience in this rapidly changing situation. We will contact you shortly with more information about the length of the delay. If you have questions, please email academic-continuity@stanford.edu
