Travel restrictions extended to the state of New York

Due to the rapid acceleration of the spread of COVID-19 in the United States, Stanford is extending travel restrictions to areas of concern within the United States.

If you are returning from or transiting through the state of New York, you will be subject to a 14-day self-isolation period upon return. No one traveling from the state of New York is allowed to be present on campus until they have completed this self-isolation period. UPDATE AS OF 3/29/20: In accord with CDC guidelines, this restriction now applies to travelers returning from New Jersey and Connecticut, as well as New York.

Travelers returning to a campus residence must have an appropriate place to self-isolate on campus. That means a studio apartment or an apartment in which there is a private bathroom or one shared only with travel companions. This includes all individuals, including children, with or without symptoms. It also applies to visitors to Stanford.
