Bay Area shelter in place orders starting Tuesday

Six Bay Area counties, including Santa Clara and San Mateo counties, today announced “shelter in place” orders for the next three weeks. The orders, which take effect at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, allow for certain designated activities to continue but otherwise ask people to remain in their homes and away from others as much as possible through at least April 7.

Stanford is working to quickly evaluate the impacts of the order and will have additional information for the university community as soon as possible later today.
